AkzoNobel factory dismantled at breakneck speed

From a fully operational factory to a levelled grass field, a raw materials factory at the Delfzijl Chemical Park was recently dismantled at breakneck speed, even though it was a complex process that called for the safe separation of installations, raw materials and finished materials, all subject to strict environmental requirements. Furthermore, a series of still live pipelines running beneath the factory had to be rerouted.

Sweco was involved in the entire dismantling process, from writing the action plan for demolition and sale through to handing over a new location ready for building. Thanks to its network, Sweco was able to find buyers for various parts of the factory, all across Europe.
